The fire fighters were able to put the situation under control while security men erected a metal barricade around the site.

Teacher Whose Wife Was Caught In Bed With A Politician Found Dead
Yesterday
the body of a teacher whose wife was caught red handed having s*x with a
politician from Baringo Central District was yesterday found dangling
from a tree.
The politician – Amos Kandie was later killed by an angry mob.
According
to residents, the teacher was depressed and never talked to people
since the incident occurred and this may be the reason behind the
suicide. He could not bear the fact that his wife had been cheating on
him with the politician.
Kandie
was the only politician who ever attempted to overthrow former
President Moi at Parliamentary level in the year 1992 and 1997 general
elections; he was also going for a Senate seat in the region this coming
elections.
Baringo
police boss Charles Musewe confirmed the incident and said that the
teacher’s son and three other people are still in custody over the
killing of Kandie. A woman who was found with Kandie’s phone is also in
custody and will be arraigned in court.
Musewe
further added that they are investigating the teacher’s death and have
been questioning his wife and other people. They have not yet ruled out
foul play since no one had reported him missing till his body was found.
The teacher’s decomposing body was taken to Kabarnet District Hospital mortuary where a post mortem is being conducted.
Principal quizzed for conducting vírginity tests on pupils
Principal,
Ajuwon Senior High School, Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun
State, Rev. Olufunke Oladeojobi, has been quizzed by the police for
allegedly conducting vírginity tests on the pupils.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Oladeojobi, who was described as a strict disciplinarian, by her pupils called in a nurse and jointly carried out vírginity tests on a group of 10 students last week Monday.
It
was further learnt that the principal did not seek the consent of the
parents/guardians of the pupils before conducting the test on Senior
Secondary School 1 pupils.
During
the test, it was alleged that the principal and the nurse whose name
could not be ascertained allegedly dipped their fingers into the pupils’
private parts.
After the exercise, which took place at the principal’s office, each of the pupils was given an exercise book.
A
15-year-old pupil, who identified herself simply as Ayo, said the
principal came into the classroom on the day and announced that all
female SSS 1 pupils should converge on the assembly ground.
She said the principal subsequently asked that those who had yet to lose their vírginity should stand apart.
Ayo said, “We are over 600 in SSS 1 but only about 300 of us are females. Those of us that are vírgins are 38 and we were matched into the principal’s office with the assistance of members of staff.
“They
subsequently divided us into three groups of 10, 15 and 13 and I was in
the second group. The principal later addressed us and threatened that
any pupil who fails the test would have her name written in the school’s
black book and would be suspended.”
Ayo
said she became apprehensive when everyone who emerged from the office
where the test was being carried out came out with a sad and disgusting
look.
She
said, “When my class captain emerged from the room, I asked her why
anyone that came out of the office looked depressed? I was held spell
bound when she told me that the principal and the nurse dipped their
fingers in turns into their private parts, adding that she had started
bleeding as a result of the penetration.
“Just
as I was asking further questions from her, the principal dashed out of
her office and announced that she had discovered one student who had
lost her vírginity out of the 10 students that were examined.
“She
wrote her name on one of the notice boards in her office and ordered
the rest of us to return to our various classes. Two of my friends who
had similar experiences burst into tears as they narrated what
happened.”
Thirteen-year-old
SSS I pupil of the school, identified simply as Ujunwa, said the
principal was happy that she was able to “catch a promiscuous pupil” as
she felt proud to discuss it on the assembly ground the next day.
She,
however, added that her joyous moments was soon short-lived when the
parents of the 10 pupils stormed the school in protest against the
development.
PUNCH Metro learnt
that the pupils rebelled against Oladeojobi last Wednesday as they did a
sit-in on the assembly ground protesting and demanding that she should
be redeployed from the school.
It was gathered that it was the teachers’ intervention that calmed the pupils.
Ujunwa said, “The parents of the girl that was said to have lost her vírginity
who happens to be a member of the Press Club and the other nine parents
besieged the school last Tuesday and Wednesday and queried our
principal for conducting such an unauthorised test on their children.
“The
parents then came with policemen attached to the Ajuwon Police Division
where they had reported the incident on Thursday and arrested our
principal.”
When
our correspondent visited the school on Tuesday, the school had closed
for the term while Oladeojobi’s office was shut. Her telephone rang out
while a text message sent to her phone was not responded to.
When
contacted, the Divisional Police Officer of Ajuwon Division, Mr. Waheed
Yusuf, a Chief Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident to our
correspondent.
He
said the investigation into the matter was still “ongoing” and declined
further comment until “investigations were concluded.”
But, a policeman attached to the station who spoke on the condition of anonymity said Oladeojobi owned up to the incident.
He said, “She confessed that she conducted vírginity
tests on the pupils and that ‘she was trying to help them.’ We took her
in for questioning on Thursday and Friday but she was not detained as
my superiors were taking into consideration that she is a civil servant.
“We might have some problems if she (Oladeojobi) is to be charged to court for séxual
assault because the matter was reported to the police late and no
medical examination was immediately done on the affected pupils to use
as a proof in the law court.”

Newly Discovered Lizard Named After President Barrack Obama
The small, insect-eating lizard was first discovered in eastern Montana in 1974, but a recent re-examination showed the fossil had been wrongly classified as a Leptochamops denticulatus and was in fact a new species, researchers told Reuters on Tuesday.
Obamadon gracilis was one of nine newly discovered species reported on Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
In naming the new species, scientists from Yale and Harvard universities combined the Latin “Obamadon” for “Obama’s teeth” and “gracilis,” which means slender.

Senator Ndume Contacted Boko Haram Leader 73 Times In One Month Says SSS
An embattled Senator, Mohammed Ndume, who is facing charges for alleged links to the militant group, Boko Haram, contacted the group’s spokesperson 73 times within a month, investigators told a federal court on Wednesday.
Mr. Ndume was arrested late 2011 by the State Security Service, SSS, and accused of sponsoring the Islamist sect.
Mr. Ndume claims his contact with the group was necessitated by his membership of the Presidential Committee mandated to help restore peace to the troubled North East of the country.
Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for series of bombings and gun attacks that have plagued Northern Nigeria resulting in more than a thousand deaths.
The SSS said Mr. Ndume, who is from Borno State, the hotbed of the crisis, was constantly in touch with an alleged spokesperson of the group, Mohammed Konduga.
Mr. Konduga was convicted and is currently serving a three-year jail term.
Mr. Ndume’s phone call history is central to establishing his relationship with the sect; and on Tuesday, a Federal High Court in Abuja brushed aside the senator’s objection to admit the phone call logs as key evidence in the case.
The SSS told the court that the senator’s call log showed that he spoke with Mr. Konduga 73 times in October 2011.
At the resumed hearing of the case, Aliyu Usman, a forensic expert with the SSS, while giving evidence said the history of the communication contacts was contained in the two mobile telephones obtained from Mr. Ndume and Mr. Konduga.
Mr. Usman said the communication between the two persons took place between October 3, 2011 and November 3, 2011, adding that they were in the form of text messages and voice calls.
The telephone lines used were those of MTN mobile network, and the details of the communication were obtained from the network, he added.
Mr. Usman said adequate forensic analyses were carried out on the data extracted from the two phones before storing them on three DVDs.
Mr. Ndume’s lawyer, Rickey Tarfa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, again objected to the tendering of the DVDs as evidence on Wednesday arguing that they were secondary evidence and should have been accompanied by a statement.
He argued that the items were in violation of the Evidence Act.
“The essence of Section 102 of the Evidence Act is to guide against the tendering of fake computer generated materials,” he said.
But the prosecution lawyer, Thompson Olatigbe, said the items had already been admitted by the court and as such they became primary evidences.
On the absence of certification, Mr. Olatigbe argued that the witness merely transmitted the contents of the two phones into DVDs and produced hard copies, as according to him, the elements would be subjected to further tests by the court.

Chris Okotie to sue INEC over party de-registration, plans to contest in 2015
FRESH Democratic Party, Rev Chris Okotie's political party was one of
the 28 parties De-registered by the Independent Electoral Commission
(INEC) on Thursday 6th December. The Head Pastor of Household of God
said he's planning to sue INEC for their action and also contest in 2015
whether his party is De-registered or not.
"We are very amused by the shenanigans calculations of INEC. I believe that INEC is fronting for the PDP and that its the 2015 fever that has overtaken that political party in such a way that it is beginning to malfunction and demonstrate a pathological dysfunctionality. It is very obvious to us at Fresh party that their intention is to erase completely, the voice of the opposition. So they have parochialised the definition of an opposition party to align with their egostic agenda such that it would become impossible to speak. How can a political party that is in power define the character and the configuration of its own opposition. We are persuaded that we must take this before the judiciary as the last bastion of our democratic experience, will remedy this situation. (meaning he's going to court)

How To Write The CV That ‘Works’ In Nigeria – Adenike Fadina
I have observed that writing a CV in Nigeria is something people put off for as long as possible and when they eventually get to it, they have the impression that so long as important elements such as work experience, educational qualifications and bio-data are in place, a CV is complete.
I beg to disagree. I believe that your CV is an account or narration of yourself. It is YOU talking about YOU in YOUR very own words and in the best way possible. It starts from who you are, to all the places you have been and how you have contributed to those places; your achievements, how you spent your time, and even personal details like your marital status and so on. Bearing this in mind, every detail and information provided must be meticulously considered and articulately presented. Put your most flattering qualities or accomplishments up front and then move gradually to less flattering qualities.

Ankara Re-defined
In Africa at the moment there is this upsurge on the wearing of
Ankara. At one point in time, it was very fashionable to wear
‘ready-made’ clothes but now the Ankara material has been made into
various fantastic styles. Ankara is no longer a trademark of the “local
girl/woman/man.”
In Africa today, things have turned around one hundred and eighty degrees as far as fashion is concerned. Wearing ethnic- oriented clothing is very in. To dress up in this rich fabric from Africa is now a sign of class. Made into the right style, Ankara commands the attention of everybody and the wearer steals the show at any event. This fashion trend is so taking over the fashion world and it’s not just trendy and glamorous, but also fabulous.

Stephen Keshi unhappy over Sidney Sam’s unavailability
Coach of Nigeria’s Super
Eagles,Stephen Keshi, has lamented the possible absence of Bayer
Leverkusen midfielder,Sidney Sam, from the squad that will prosecute the
South Africa 2013 Nations Cup for Nigeria.
The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) can only begin to process the
paper-works for the German-born player, who is also eligible to play for
Nigeria, after the Nations Cup,because FIFA cannot issue a clearance for
the player before the tournament.
Keshi has been chasing the player for a long time now, before Sam
agreed to play for his father’s country, despite representing Germany in
the youth levels.
“The NFF is pushing hard for Sam to be here but it depends on how
long that will take, I would have loved to have him around for the
nation’s cup but to be frank, the world cup qualifiers are close so
maybe he’ll be around for that “ Keshi told Brila FM.
Keshi once stated that he wants to get the best players for
Nigeria, irrespective of where they are, which explains why players like
Shola Ameobi,Bright Dike and Victor Moses now play for Nigeria, despite
being eligible to play for other countries.
But does Keshi not have enough arsenal in his midfield to prosecute the Nations Cup? will Sam be a big miss?

2013 Nations Cup : Adebayor withdraws from Togo squad
Togo captain,Emmanuel
Adebayor, this morning announced that he has withdrawn from the Togolese
squad that will travel to South Africa for the 2013 Nations Cup.
Last week, Adebayor threatened to withdraw from the Nations Cup because of his side’s poor preparation for the tournament.
The Tottenham forward who just returned from a self-imposed exile
from the national team, helped Togo qualify for the Nations Cup,but will
not be part of the team to South Africa, stating that the Togolese
football federation has not done enough to prepare the team.
Togo have been drawn in the percieved ‘Group of Death’ where they
will face Ivory Coast, Algeria and Tunisia at the tournament in South
Africa.
“We might as well stay with our clubs if we have to make all these
efforts to qualify just to show poorly in South Africa next January,”
Adebayor told Radio Frequence 1 last week.
“As I am talking to you, I have no idea what is planned for our preparation and our stay in Durban,” Adebayor added.
No doubt that Adebayor will be a big miss for Togo, but will his
actions hasten the Togolese FA to into swift preparations for the
Nations Cup?
