Kidnappers free Okonjo Iweala’s mother
Kidnappers freed the 82-year-old mother of Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on Friday, five days after she was taken from her home in southeastern Nigeria, a senior security official said.
"She has been released now by her captors and she is at home," said the source, who had confirmed Kamene Okonjo's kidnapping on Sunday in Delta state.
It has not been confirmed whether ransom was paid or not before she was released. Neither has it been revealed whether the kidnap is political or for financial gain.
