Nigerian Striker Michael Eneramo to earn €1.2m per yr with Besiktas

Nigerian striker Michael Eneramo will earn €1.2 million (which is over N
255million) per year after signing a two year deal withTurkish side, Besiktas. He will also earn €10,000 per-match bonus.

The Turkish football club yesterday released a statement which read;

“Michael Eneramo has agreed terms with Beşiktaş. Eneramo will earn €1.2 million per-season in addition to a €10,000 per-match bonus. In addition to this, Eneramo will earn the same salary in 2014-15 and 2015-16 if selected for the squad over 30 times over the course of each season.”

The 27-year-old striker played for Turkish side Sivasspor for a year and a half before joining Besiktas

Former Super Eagles Star, Thompson Oliha is Dead

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Thompson Oliha, has passed on. Oliha was among the 1994 victorious Super Eagles' squad that won the Nations cup in Tunisia, died today Sunday, June 30 at 4.05 am at the Yusjib industrial medicare hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Confirming his death in Ilorin, Doctor Yusuf Addulraheem told Super Sport that Oliha was brought to the hospital at the time when there was nothing he could do to resuscitate him.

“I feel so sad to confirm to you that Thompson Oliha is dead and by the time his wife brought him here, the body was completely lifeless. His wife Irish Oliha told me that he slumped in the toilet before rushing him to hospital and there was nothing we could do to save him,”

Report have it that until his death, Oliha was the head coach of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) in Ilorin, Kwara State. He was 44 years old. May his soul RIP...Amen.

Massive Trashing as Nigeria beats Tahiti 6 goals to 1

Nigeria jumped out early against the overmatched Tahiti side and never looked back, scoring six goals and missing several other chances to turn a 6-1 final into a final that would have looked more like a high-scoring baseball game than a soccer match.

Nnamdi Oduamadi gave Nigeria 3 out of the 6 goals, Elderson scored twice and an own-goal from Jonathan Tehau who had earlier score the only goal for Tahiti put Nigeria at the top of the table in group B with 3 points, +5 goals. Nigeria: Super Eagles Squad for FIFA Confederations Cup

 

Nigeria are in Group B along with Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain for the Confederations Cup, which runs from June 15 to 30 in Brazil.

Is like Keshi has a settled look about his defence but has made a host of changes in other departments with Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike, who played key parts in the Nations Cup Success in South Africa, unavailable.

FIFA Rankings: Nigeria Drop to 31st

 

The Super Eagles of Nigeria lost their place in the top 30 in the new rankings released by FIFA Thursday morning in Zurich, Switzerland.

Although the team picked an impressive 2-2 score line against Mexico in an international friendly match played in USA on the last day of the latest ranking, Nigeria dropped three spots to finish in 31st place.

The Super Eagles had finished in 28th position in May.
Nigeria started the year in 52nd spot and moved to 30th in February after the Africa Cup of Nations triumph in South Africa last February. Eagles fell to 31st place in April but rose to 28th in May and have now dropped again.

The African champions played out a 2-2 draw with Mexico on May 31 in an international friendly in Houston, Texas before last Wednesday’s victory over Kenya in a competitive 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The victory is expected to impact on the next release in July.

They will also play against Namibia next week as well as feature in the Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Cote d’Ivoire remains the highest ranked African team in 13th place, a spot lower than last month’s. They are followed by Ghana who gained one place in 21st position while Mali also gained three places to finish in 23rd position. The top team in the world is Spain.

FIFA Picks Mikel, Oduamadi For Doping Test

 

Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) picked Super Eagles duo of John Mikel Obi and Nnamdi Oduamadi for doping test after Wednesday's 1-0 victory over Kenya's Harambee Stars at the Kasarani Stadium, reports Complete Sports.
